Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS)

This group of symptoms is used to describe an impairment of the functions of the lower urinary tract. Symptoms include

    1. Day time frequency
    2. Night time frequency (nocturia)
    3. Urinary urgency
    4. Poor stream
    5. Sensation of incomplete voiding
    6. Hesitation during voiding
    7. Urine dribbling at the end of voiding

This group of symptoms is commonly used to assess the functional impairment of men with prostate enlargement.

Other urology conditions can also present with these symptoms. They include urinary tract infections, bladder cancers, urinary stones and prostatitis.
